Die wichtigsten Aussagen dieses Systematischen Reviews
Dies ist das erste systematische Review zu allen 6 vorhandenen Meta-Analysen (MA) von Placebo-kontrollierten Homöopathiestudien für jegliche Indikation. Homöopathie zeigte bessere Ergebnisse als Placebo:
- 5 der 6 MA enthielten eine Effektschätzung für alle eingeschlossenen Studien. Alle 5 zeigten signifikant positive Effekte der Homöopathie, im Vergleich zu Placebo.
- 4 MA enthielten eine Effektschätzung nach Beschränkung auf Studien mit höherer methodischer Qualität. In 3 dieser 4 MA blieb die signifikanten positiven Effekte der Homöopathie erhalten, in 1 MA war positive Effekt nunmehr nicht signifikant.
- Die methodische Qualität der Homöopathiestudien war ähnlich wie bei anderen klinischen Studien mit gleichem Design, aus einem vergleichbaren Zeitraum und bewertet nach gleichen Kriterien.
- Die Qualität der Gesamtevidenz für positive Homöopathie-Wirksamkeit in diesem systematischen Review war ebenfalls ähnlich wie in systematischen Reviews zu anderen Interventionen aus einem vergleichbaren Zeitraum und eingestuft anhand desselben Bewertungsinstruments (GRADE).

Key messages from this systematic review
This is the first systematic review of all 6 existing meta-analyses (MAs) of placebo-controlled homeopathy trials for any indication. Homeopathy had better results than placebo:
- 5 of the 6 MAs provided an effect estimate for all included trials. All 5 showed significant positive effects of homeopathy, compared to placebo.
- 4 MAs provided analyses effect estimates after sample restriction to trials of higher methodological quality. The significant positive effect of homeopathy was retained in 3 of these 4 MAs, while the positive effect was no longer significant in 1 MA.
- The methodological quality of the homeopathy trials was similar to that of other clinical trials with same design, from a comparable time period, and assessed according to the same criteria.
- Likewise, the overall quality of evidence for positive homeopathy effects in this systematic review was similar to that of systematic reviews of other interventions from a comparable time period, assessed with the same rating instrument (GRADE).
